Introduction

History 

Comtest was established in 1972 by recognizing an opportunity to specialize in testing new digital carrier systems (primarily T- carrier) being deployed across Canada. A few leading manufacturers (LSI/Sierra & Tau-Tron) helped this digital technology flourish due to the innovative quality test methods they introduced. These test methods were subsequently adapted to international standards. The ANSI and CCIT standards were implemented to ensure "interoperability" between carriers, ensuring customers are provided highly reliable and high capacity digital communications.  

Throughout our 40 years in business, we have maintained and expanded upon our expertise in digital communications testing and transmission. Our products range from primary multiplexing voice and data circuits up to high speed, high capacity SONET, Ethernet, IP, ATM, Testing and transmission/switching systems. We also supply the highest quality equipment used in the installation, test, and repair of Fiber Optic cabling and networks.

Comtest represents an extensive line of hardware and software test solutions that will meet and exceed the high capacity demands and sophisticated technical requirements of today's telecommunication equipment and networks. Some of the major applications supported range from Synchronous Optical Networks (SONET), Voice over IP (VoIP), Gigabit Ethernet, Web Applications, Routing and more.

(UK)ultrasonically tuned, fiber cleaver is a world first in technology leadership. With proven results in unmatched low angle fiber cleave tilt and optimum flat planar end face, this cleaver is the perfect tool for numerous applications. Combined with the Sumitomo DCM (Direct Core Monitoring) fiber optic fusion Splicer we offer the highest quality, highest productivity fusion splicing equipment available on the market today. 

Our testing and fiber optics products are used in the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of digital and fiber optic communications networks. Our transmission and switching products are used in multiplexing, connecting, and transporting information over copper, fiber, coaxial cable, and wireless (microwave, PCS) communications systems.
